Montenegro 2012 - Rambo Amadeus - ????????

The Montenegrin public broadcaster RTCG has the clear intention to participate in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Baku. According to the new director of RTCG, Rade Vojvodic, "it will happen" because "Montenegro needs representatives, regardless of the eventual placing".

Vojvodic has explained that the broadcaster will try to gather enough money to fund the country's participation fee, which is 23,000 euro. A sum much lower than it used to be in previous years (85,000 euro). This is why broadcaster RTCG has good chances to send a representative to Baku 2012.

"I think it will happen [...] There is a great likelihood that we will succeed. Montenegro needs to have representatives, it is irrelevant what will the placing be at the end. It is a pity not to participate and not to see the Montenegrin flag, among other things there, not to promote our musicians", Vojvodic stated.

In an interview for "Vijesti" director of RTCG has announced that he would personally choose who will represent Montenegro in the Eurovision Song Contest, in consultation with people from the music industry.

Montenegro first participated as a part of Yugoslavia 1961 to 1992 and the Serbia and Montenegro from 2004 to 2006. Then it debuted as a separate country in 2007, staying until 2009, when they withdrew because of financial problems of broadcaster RTCG.

In 2011, Montenegro confirmed its participation in Düsseldorf, but they didnt find the sponsors to cover the costs.

Montenegro: RTCG selects Rambo Amadeus for Baku!

RTCG, the Montenegrin national broadcaster has announced that Rambo Amadeus will represent Montenegro at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest scheduled to be be held in Baku next May. Montenegro debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest as an indepedent nation in 2007.

Rambo Amadeus will represent Montenegro at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest next May in Azerbaijan with a song that will be recorded in Ljubljana, at popular Slovenian musician Robert Pesut's studio.

Rade Vojvodić the director of RTCG has confirmed that negotations have been completed successfully with Rambo Amadeus, who will have the honour of flying the Montenegrin flag in Baku next May.

"He will be a good representative representing our country and the region. He's not the typical musician. There is one important fact that separates him from other musicians and makes him unique and distinguished. He is very popular throughout the former Yugoslavian countries, and he is an UNICEF ambassador. All this is a great recommendation, and a great opportunity for the promotion of Montenegro as a country"- Rade Vojvodic has said.

Estaba esperando confirmación oficial porque no me lo crei mucho, pero parece ser verdad y el mítico Rambo Amdeus será el representante de Montenegro en su vuelta a Eurovisión. La verdad es que es un cantante que se sale de todo lo habitual, una mezcla de humor en sus canciones que representan la sociedad (ahora ex-) yugoslava. No sé como encajará en un Festival como es Eurovisión pero sin duda seguro que no deja indiferente a casi nadie.
