Visto lo visto, o mejor dicho, escuchado lo escuchado (ESDM ha dicho esta mañana públicamente que su favorita es CHEF) creo que yo también veré esta preselección

Después de escuchar las canciones de nuevo (que está en su correspondiente hilo de la semifinal 1 ), esta noche quiero que se clasifiquen:

Kdam fiasco as Kathleen Rayter withdraws

The Canadian singer who won the Israeli version of "The Voice" blaming the jury for favouritism, with some members confessing they will not vote for her.

In a shock statement just one day before the grand final of Kdam 2013, Kathleen Rayer - by far the biggest name in this year's Kdam - has announced her withdrawal from the Israeli national final.

In a letter to the Israeli media, as published in full on omritv.co.il, Kathleen remarks that she has no choice but to withdraw from the contest she has always wanted to take part it.

Nothing has prepared me - she says - to a situation where there is a conflict of interest with a many of the jury members. Some have decided to settle old scores with me, to tell me in advance that they will not be voting for me, to call me a coward and to blame me for fishing for votes, and all this before I have even gone up on stage to sing in the final.

Kathleen was selected as one of the 10 finalists for this year's Kdam after last week's three semifinals in which 30 contestants battled out for a s pot in the final. Soon after the first semi, Kathleen's production team discovered that some of the jury members - whose vote counts for 50% of the overall score in selecting the Israeli song for Malmö - have hidden agendas that were not published before the show.

As the Nana website reminds us, some jury members shared the same producers or managers. Ilanit and Dafna Dekel, two of the jury members, are managed by Shlomo Zach who also produced Michael HarPaz's Kdam song. After the media caught onto that story, Dafna felt the need to make a statement during the third semifinal that indeed she shared managers with HarPaz, but then said that she feels she can continue to judge objectively.

Another judge, Uri Paster, had previously mentored two of the Kdam's participants, Julieta and Sarit Avitan, in the reality TV show "La La Land" about Israeli singers who travel to Los Angeles to become stars. These close connections between some of the participants and jury members even led one more jury member, Mira Awad, to confess that she once performed in a play with Kdam participant Nicky Goldstein, and said jokingly that hopefully that link is not too strong to be considered favouritism towards him.

Rayter continues to say in her statement that her management has met several times with members of the Kdam production team and with IBA members with a demand to replace or eliminate the jury members suspected of having hidden agendas. However, after an ultimatum set up by Rayter's management had come and gone without IBA doing anything about the matter, Rayter was left with no choice but to withdraw.

Withdrawal from the Kdam carries with it a 50,000 shekel fine (€10,000) as well as grounds for a court case. It is still uncertain whether this fine will apply to Rayter's management team.

IBA have released a statement published on ynet.co.il expressing regret for Kathleen's decision and reiterated than an external lawyer supervises the Kdam vote and that televoting acounts for 50% of the overall score (and in the Second Chance round, it counted for 100% of the score). They go on to state that every singer has the right to follow his conscience, however they hope that the decision was not influenced by an ulterior motive.

Era normal cuando en su semi con esa pedazo de canción solo la apoyó una del jurado... aunque por lo que leo las favoritas del jurado se han quedado en semis... así que tampoco entiendo mucho su retirada, porque aunque ella no tiene el voto de las carpeteras que gritaban cuando salió Judah, Kathleen es bastante popular tras su paso por The Voice Israel... lo que me parece muy fuerte es que metan a otro en el lugar de Kathleen en vez de dejar 9...
Además no sé porque prefiere que la multen cuando Sarit, Michael y Julieta (esta chica me gustaba he de decir, de hecho se rumoreó el año pasado que la iban a elegir internamente) que se supone que son los que mencionan de tener relación con el jurado ya no están... ahora han repescado a Nicky Golstein... que es otro de los que se nombra como "amigo" del jurado en este caso de Mira Awad... en fin... Pues nada iré con Shany y con Judah... además Kathleen salía 10º... no me extrañaría que ganase Nicky, la máxima puntuación de Mira ya la tiene

Pues yo creo que habría ganado igualmente... Mira Award sólo dijo que conocía a Nicky de una obra de teatro en la que trabajaron juntos y que esperaba que esa conexión no fuera motivo suficiente para considerar cierto favoritismo hacia él, es decir, ella con eso quiso decir que lo votaría justamente y nada más, y para colmo no había llegado a la final.

Por otro lado, Kathleen salía 10ª por su condición de súper favorita, es decir la IBA tampoco creo que la estuviera perjudicando; y no creo que Nicky salga 10º, seguramente confeccionarán otro orden de actuación, o bien lo colocarán por ahí en medio.
