24 Hour Eurovision Marathon for charity on 24 January

escXtra.com would like to draw your attention to a very special charity event. This Saturday, 24 January, there will be a special 24 Hour Eurovision Marathon on Oystermouth Radio. The Marathon will be hosted by Welsh Eurovision fan and host of a weekly radio show called W12P, Glen Bartlett.

The noble cause Glen will be raising money for is Beat Blood Cancer: Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. The charity has been around for more than fifty years, fighting blood cancer in the UK. Their research involves fighting blood cancer as well as preventing blood cancer.

Now you may ask: there are so many charities all around the world, also in the UK, why did Glen pick Beat Blood Cancer? About that, Glen says:

W12P is a faithful partner of flyingtheflag.eu, run by Dale Roberts. His wife, Karen, benefitted immenseley from the hard work done by the charity we’re raising money for; Beat Blood Cancer: Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. We usually promote flyingtheflag.eu by giving them an occasional plug and by taking part in popular campaigns; (Flying the Flag, ABBA the Flag, The Sound of Vienna etc.), but for the new year I wanted to be that bit extra. Leukaemia and Lymphoma research is such an amazing charity and I hope we can raise as much money as we can for the charity!

Twenty-four hours of Eurovision fun will, despite playing the music we all love, be quite a task for Glen, who will be guiding you through the entire marathon. He can’t do it on his own though! He’ll need all the support he can get from the Eurovision community to help him raise money for this great cause!

So, why a 24 hour radio marathon? I have no idea! I’m dreading it! I normally feel tired after doing the standard three hour show, so time will tell how I get on with this one! Saying that, I know that the support of the listeners and also the fact that we’re doing it for a good cause will help us pull through!

On the day, there’ll be loads of special guests and fun features – but we really rely on listeners getting in touch with us during the programme! You can get in touch with us on the day through Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/wales12points, by e-mailing us: w12p@w12p.co.uk or by tweeting us; @w12plive or by using the hashtag #w12plive24. We’ll be tweeting live throughout so expect to get a retweet or a shoutout during the show!

If you’re a regular listener of W12P, you will know that the show isn’t limited to UK listeners only. International listeners can tune in online and yes, you can also donate! And we encourage everyone to please do so! If you’re in the UK, you can donate £5 by texting EURO95 to 70070. International supporters can donate by visiting http://www.justgiving.com/w12p.

Glen’s Eurovision Marathon will start this Saturday, at noon and will, obviously, last until that same time the next day. escXtra.com will keep you updated during the day and we, once again, want to encourage you to support Glen and this noble cause, Beat Blood Cancer, by donating! Every penny is appreciated!
